Key West Vandenberg wreck scuba diving is one of the most popular activities for experienced and novice scuba divers. Located just 15 miles off the coast of Key West, the Vandenberg is the largest artificial reef in the world and home to various marine life.
Diving the Vandenberg in the morning provides a unique experience as the sun rises, and the water is slightly calmer than in the afternoon. This is the ideal time of day to explore the wreck, as visibility is usually the clearest, and the colors of the coral and fish are the most vibrant. Some marine life that can be seen include sea turtles, barracuda, and moray eels.
In addition to Key West Scuba divers, the Vandenberg also attracts a variety of marine life, including sea stars, sponges, and corals. The wreck has become an artificial reef, providing a haven for many life forms.
