PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Certification

Go deeper into the world of Scuba with PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification. Expand your skills and experience, qualify for pro-level dive training.

The Florida Keys are world famous for the abundance and variety of dive sites found in their near shore waters, and Key West is the jewel of the Keys when it comes to prime SCUBA diving adventure. North America’s only living coral reef lies just 6 miles offshore, there are dozens of divable wrecks, and the pristine reef zones of the Dry Tortugas are a day trip away. If you hold a PADI Open Water card or a CMAS 1-star certification from SSI, NASE, SAA, NAUI, or BSAC, you will not find a better place in America to get your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Certification.

Have a great time and dive outstanding sites while doing the Advanced Open Water course, and within just a couple of days you can head out to explore the amazing SCUBA diving opportunities that Key West offers. Poke around the coral caves along the Marquesas Reef Line, check out the beautiful wall that drops from 30 to 130 feet at Ten-Fathom Bar, or go deep on one of the reefs in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. The PADI Advanced Open Water card is also your ticket to exploring awesome wrecks like the USNS General Hoyt S. Vandenberg, 500 feet long and lying with her bottom at 140 feet only 6 miles off Key West.

The world of SCUBA really opens up for PADI Advanced Open Water divers. When you complete the course, you are free to enjoy most types of dive trips that are offered at dive centers worldwide. Advanced Open Water Divers can also enroll in exciting specialty courses including Emergency First Response Provider, Search and Recovery, Rebreather, Nitrox diver, and more. If you want to go professional as a Divemaster or Open Water Scuba Instructor, the Advanced Open Water certification is a necessary first step.

The quality of diving available around Key West means that experienced divers will have plenty of fun on the certification dives and expand their skill base in a way that is not possible for those who do their training in a pool. New divers will find that the Advanced Open Water course is the best way to review and follow-up on skills learned in the basic Open Water course while logging more dives with a PADI-certified instructor.

Five specialty dives include boat dives, deep dives to 60-130 feet, and underwater navigation training for low-visibility conditions and night dives that require a compass. Pick 3 more specialty dives to build your skills as a boat diver or underwater naturalist, or work on mastering technique with some training in peak performance buoyancy control.

Enjoy a variety of high-quality reef and wreck dives on our Advanced Open Water certification course, and get your qualification in only 2 days. Two dives on the first day and three dives on the second will make these the best days of studying you ever had. All equipment, instruction, transportation, and dive master services are included in the course fee – just buy the text books or register to access the official PADI materials online.
